Hmm, checking out a fallen tree dear to MLW and what to do - needs a good smoke.

Vegas Robaina Familiares purchased on the basis of flavour reviews here.
Unfortunately another cuban stick with construction issues. I'm just wondering now if I'm being sent the bad ones as I buy singles as there can't be that many duff ones made to match my experience. Seems that half the CC I have bought have had issues.
This one was packed so much it was virtually unsmokable. I've not sucked on anything so tight since I was a teenager.
I'll try another purchase later this year because of the promised flavours and really hope my unlucky streak with CC will end. Perfect draw will be a future purchase too.
From the pictures you can see the tightness of the pack and how the end bulges out where the cherry is.20190801_115637.jpg20190801_115716.jpg

Lol.

You should try to dry box your cigars for a week or so before smoking them as they might be over humidified.

65 controlled by bovida and confirmed by digital hydrometer.
I thought that would be ideal.

It should be but maybe the cigar arrived too humid. The seller may have overhumidified their stock. If this is the case it will take quite a while for the cigar to loose humidity even if your humidor reads 65%.

Wotcha

BBF on the menu.

These have benefited from sitting in the box for 6 weeks since I didn?t smoke them on the last trip. Not exactly dry boxing as it?s an airtight container but this and the RA on Tuesday are/ were superb.

RA was marginally better for flavour.

If the cigar is plugged. Complain and get it replaced. Assuming it's a recent purchase.

Otherwise as Mike had said. Or perfecdraw tool is needed.

Or if you are near a BnM. Pop in and check out and select your singles!

Kickback, as a general rule it is a pretty good rule of thumb that it takes 30 days for your purchased sticks to acclimatize to your humidor rH%. If you purchase directly by picking up sticks in shop, ask/look for what the humidity is. It's often in the range of 70%. Thats too much to smoke on. As mike said, id dry box any stick i wasn't sure of.
If you 50% of the time get plugged stuff from one vendor, I'd ditch the vendor for sure .

Inspired by smokey joe I went for a BBF today too. Does anyone else find their choices influenced by seeing what other members are smoking?

rarely immediately... but usually something sticks out as looking particularly tasty I bank it as the next potential go to! Wide Churchill was the last one I was lured into!

In March Alex made these Dahlias (P898, Siglo V) for me. Damn I?m in love with this format, I can walk around half a day with this size sitting in my left cheek, just like the old man C. [emoji41]
