  • Fkin Ebay Rant !!!!

I dont sell a lot on ebay but remind me never to do it again!

Sold a gold ps4 and the fees & postage were about ?50 - would have got a better deal at local CEX or cash generator - anyway, the buyer decided he "bought by mistake" and requested a return.

I clearly marked as no returns? and a 2 min google search says ive been hoodwinked - regardless ill need to refund and because i refused the cliam - ill have to cover return postage!!!!

it wont kill me and ill probaly get fees back and will only be out 2 way postage ?30 - or so, but i already spent the funds on sticks!!!!!

having a cup of coffee, reading posts here and deciding what stick to burn on a day off - boom ebay email - rant over

I listed the item as No Returns, but ebay emailed me :
The buyer requested a return. Per your free returns policy for this item, please accept this request and provide a return postage label as soon as possible.
If you don't resolve this request by 10 Aug, 2019, you may be required to issue a refund without the item being returned to you.

Aye Ebay can be a nightmare, always seem to side with the buyer.

I've had a clearout recently and find only 1 in 4 seem to pay at all these days, just going through the unpaid item system is enough of a hassle without being out of pocket!

I refuse to sell or buy on ebay anything over a tenner due to being stung twice. One purchase and one selling.

      Hate the place!

Anyhoo, have seat, coffee, cigar and dream of a better world without ebay [emoji1305][emoji1303][emoji1787][emoji23][emoji1787]

My experience is completely different on ebay. Recently sold of a load of old hifi and all went really smoothly. Got me the funds for recent boxes.

But. I hear this problem a lot about games consoles.
            .--
I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

eBay for buying is great, as you?ve found out the buyer is completely protected so very hard to get conned.

Selling is a complete lottery, there are filters you can apply so only members with a certain number and positive feedback % can bid but even then there?s always a chance you?re gonna get screwed.

I would second gumtree or Facebook, cash on collection or PayPal friends and family so they can?t claim their money back after picking up the items.

There is a strange eBay shipping I've done before...I can't remember what I sold...but I chased them up just to check if they got it...when they gave me their address it was in some next country...but I posted it to the UK eBay have some service they post whatever on to another country. Which was quite strange.

its a shipping company! for example a guy in Japan sees your listing and wants it - these guys step in and buy it then ship it.

after some googling, its a massive problem. they ship the item, the item gets damaged so the guy in Japan sends it back to them for a refund - these gangsters claim you - saying it was broken on way from you to them.

as i sold as a private seller with "no refunds" im protected? they try the "i ordered by mistake" 1st as im protected (joke)

then what happens is - as you naturally declined the refund - they open a damaged item claim.

apparently declining the claim opens a new window for them and you lose your protection.

the protection ive just lost is.... they dont need to send the item back

i lose a ps4 and the price paid - if i refunded initially, i have a broken ps4 and lost the money

                      lose lose!

Yes, the Ebay global shipping programme. I don't understand how or why, but its jolly clever and very convenient

Agreed. The GSP makes life really easy for sellers. Never had a problem.

I always insure everything I send for the full value even if I end up being a few quid out of pocket. I sent a heavy Stephen King book to the US the other week and it arrived damaged but because it was fully insured, I got the full amount back. Worth considering especially if it's a high value item.
Selling consoles and things that teenagers like can be risky on eBay as there are a lot of wee scrotes who will take the piss IMO

This was not GSP - its an independent shipping company called shop airlines europe b.v.(c/o yamato transport) with loads of usernames like cargo2hk etc.

its a real company that makes a shit load of money for ebay and they are very aware of the practices!

Anyone want to buy a new gold ps4 with cracks, screws and possibly parts missing? ill trade for sticks lol
