    That's the issue.....

i would also say 4 is a rather a lot for a tuppador I have 4 in my large scuba... I know the website says 4 is enough...not sure when they changed it but before they used to recommend X for wood and X for plastic.

If I was you i'd have two in the tuba then two in a ziplock bag...every few months rotate them as you can recharge the boveda when drying out.

So since my original posting the rh has gone down but the lowest it will go to is 74% and it stay around that mark quite well, I think the problem I have now is the temp inside the Tupperdor that is the problem it fluctuates between 22-24 degrees it?s in a well shaded area the sun doesn?t hit it is there anything I can do? Is this temp okay? If I drop the temp down will that help the rh?

Will I just be better off getting a proper humidor?

Reading the full post i think you can do a couple things to help....

stick it in the coolest room of your house/flat for a few days, out of direct light etc. See what happens... then think and act. If still reading high consider lower RH bovedas. I dont believe you can have too many as i’ve recently chucked a bunch into a container and it made no difference to the readings at all.

In the main what you are looking for is stability. Remember this- both your butler and your boveda pouches have tolerances which are not perfectly accurate, so in theory there is room for your actual humidity to be a chalk off what you are aiming at.

the mix of cuban or NC ought not to make any difference to your target rh....

the point of a tuperdor is ease. Open it, chuck in boveda pouches, which self-regulate, and add sticks.

Will a humidor help? No... you’ll need to season it so that it doesnt leech humidity from your sticks or your boveda, and it is only marginally better at temp control.

Figure out where you can establish a cool, stable spot and test n trial a little.

Take the Bovedas out, leave the lid off and wait for the humidity inside to fall to what you want then put the lid back on without Bovedas and see what happens. Put the Bovedas in another Tupperware or sealed bag to preserve them.

Haven't heard tell of fake Bovidas before; is it widespread?

Not at all that I'm aware of, it was a backwards way of saying that in my experience Boveda packs are so reliable that if they were causing issues I would doubt their authenticity.

It would be foolish to assume there weren't any fakes in the market these days IMO. I'd always check you're buying from a reliable source, just to be sure

So after a month I?ve still been having the problem I tried recalibrating the sensor taking out packs putting in packs. I finally contacted boveda and it turns out that I have a faulty sensor

Was that the sensor provider that confirmed that or Bovida telling you it must be the sensor?
