I was actually going to create thread asking what people have done with their cigar bands, given I've only just started smoking and kept them all so far. How is that lacquer for heat resistance?

That was my only reservation of sticking them on the top side of an ashtray.

Not sure on the heat resistance but im using the original metal insert in the ashtray so technically there shouldn't be much heat transfer. I intend to use a yacht varnish as it will withstand more knocks
