  • Emirates airlines

Looking into my next vacation. I have 2 choices of airline companies, either Singapore or Emirates. Emirates is two shorter flights (7h and 6h). Did any of you ever fly coach with Emirates? How's the leg space? Or is Singapore more comfortable? But the first flight is very long, nearly 13 hours. Not a big fan of long flights. And a layover in Dubai might be nice to score some cigars.

Emirates is definitely one of my preferred airlines for comfort and overall service though Singapore are the best airline I?ve ever flown with. Can?t really go wrong with either, compared to other coach seats anyway I?ve never flown business class or anything

Cheers! I can't seem to make my mind up. Although I've read that Emirates reduced leg space on newer planes. I get grumpy when I fly, so I'd like it to be the most comfortable flight possible.

I haven't flown Singapore (did fly Cathy Pacific Singapore to HK via BK in '87) but we did fly Emirates to DR, which was long enough! Cattle class OK but if you can stretch to Club Class, it looked tremonous & better than First used to be, just a few yrs ago.

We did a week in Dubai & I'd say it is a good stop over place, Cigars not cheap but some interesting things to be found, inc a box of JLPC 2001.

Cheers Simon. I'm too cheap to fly anything but coach. Yes, Dubai seems interesting, at least to take a look at what they have. Maybe even buy a box or two. Singapore airport doesn't seem to have anything interesting and I'll probably get 10 hits with a bamboo pole on my foot soles if I try to vape between my flights there since everything is outlawed in that country.

I couldn’t compare with Singapore but Emirates is the best airline I’ve ever been with.

I’ve done Emirates many times from Copenhagen to Dubai. If it’s the 380 it’s damned good, but I’ve always done coach flex or whatever it’s called. The toilets are so big you can lie on the floor and e-puff away

Flown with both but as I live in HK the SG flight isnt that long. I would say for Cigars go emirates as the prices in SG airport are ridiculous but if you're going for amazing airport going SG as they have loads of fun things to do in the airport including the newly opened waterfall.

DISCLAIMER: Do not try to replicate this. Even we entered the airport and missed our flight, however, we had the intention to travel 4 days later. It is not ...

Both are similar in coach but probably would prefer the 2 shorter flights in coach...

Emirates for me. Singapore are good, better than a lot of their counterparts but I remember a real jobsworth had a few people close to tears as he went about his job checking carry-on luggage for a return flight. Never seen that with Emirates.
And having just said that....I'm flying with Singapore in November.

They will check stock, hold stock and tell you prices in advance if you email too.

Nice. I probably won't buy much there since regular production seems to be priced pretty high but I'll probably will go for a box or two of some RE. But I still have time since my trip is scheduled for early 2020.
