The names of different size and shapes vary greatly, particularly with NCs.

For CCs it is to a certain extend easier - there are two different names for each size, a common name and a factory name. The common name is very loose in terms of dimension and all inter-changeable (so a robusto could fall into different lengths and ring gauges) but the factory name is very exact (so a robusto is always 50x124mm).

For example, the Monte Edmundo could be considered a Robusto in terms of the common name and general shape, but in terms of the factory name is would not be considered a robusto, rather an Edmundo

Whereas a RASS is both a robusto in common name and factory name

In terms of common names its all very loose, for example, I think of the ERDM Choix Supreme as a robusto, but its factory name is Hermosos No.4, and according to CCW, its common name would be a Corona Extra (but a stated, common name doesn't really have any hard and fast rules)

I might be wrong but isn't the only date on the cardboard box holding 5 of these packs?

Yup, guess so. It is for the Robusto's!

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

Very nice present there. Maybe not knowing the age is a good thing, no excuse not to smoke one and see if they?re good to go straight away.

This is true, but sadly they where not kept in a seal bag so have let them sit for a bit before I try them

Nice gift, I picked up a couple of these recently hope they improve my luck with Cohiba.

Yes the box code is on the main box of boxes not the individual ones. Never got why they went with there though considering they're meant to be sold in the smaller packs

Probably because it's easier for Habanos. I think the date & Factory codes were put on for their & the dealers point of view, rather than the consumer.

The bands are proper and had all the correct labelling on them with the Habanos sticker and duty sticker. They are authentic I have bought cigars from this store before in Spain

Sorry, I wasn't questioning authenticity or anything.
I meant what type are they; hologram or earlier type without. It can give you an indication on the age.
