Punch then cut?

I?m not sure if this is normal or I?m a bit special but I use a 7mm punch as my go to cut, if the draw is a bit tight I?ll do another overlapping cut but that?s kind of a different topic.

When I use a punch I always use a straight cut once I get down to the final third, I find it smokes so much better at the end with a looser draw.

Anyway, does anyone else do anything similar?

Primarily i V cut, on the odd occasion when I've used a punch then yes if the draw is tight i switch to a straight cut.

I've had to revert to a straight cut when my punch gets a build up of tar ...doesnt happen often

depends, if it feels loose i punch, its all about the feel of the cigar to what cut will suit it.
