No, it's not illegal per se to buy from outside the UK, but, to avoid doing so in an illegal manner, there are laws and regulations to comply with (most of them to do with duty and VAT, hence it falls to HMRC to administer these; ie some people nobody wants to fall foul of!) .

Best have a butchers at the threads supplied by [MENTION=13372427]ha_banos[/MENTION]. To avoid tripping over anything and hence prejudicing the forum and its members, it's a rule not to discuss buying from abroad on the forum.
