  • Best budget Short Robustos

Hi all. I'm looking for a one a day good quality but budget short robusto. Could I do better than Quintero Favoritos? I quite liked the pepper towards the last 3rd

I'm a complete noob btw (to cigars).

    Thank you in advance!

I'd go for the Hoyo PR, perhaps not budget but one of the best regular production PR's IMHO. A little smaller & cheaper RG Perla's not bad.

They are certainly better than the Quintero Favoritos.

Don?t think there?s much else Cuban, it?s not a size with a huge amount of options and larger rg tends to go with higher price.

For non Cuban there?s got to be more, tried the two la Aurora principe short robusto?s? Oliva orchant chubby?

                  Non cuban

Don diego perla - cheap and smooth

villa zamorno short robusto - cheap and good

oliva serie g robusto (quite small anyway) - if you like the pepper

drew estate larutan juicy lucy - sweet tipped coffee, but not too sweet or overpowering just something different.

Joy de nicaragua rosalones reserva 444

                  Joya red

alec bradley punk- more corona, but worth a go!

If your budget suits the Quintero Favorito then I think they're hard to beat especially with a few years on them.

True! But nobody sells them aged...

There's only one practical solution to that, buy a dozen packs & stick them at the back of your humi' & forget about them. I know it takes patience & a little financial layout but getting to a stage where you have sufficient stock to age some sticks for a couple of years, is the first step to enjoying aged cigars most/all the time.

they crop up occassionally in the For Sale section... I know a member who was sold them in tins in the last year...

I find them a touch rough if the truth be told... but we all like what we like... and thats good enough for each one of us!
