  • The last Cohiba to buy?

Just heard today that we can expect a Behike 58 to be launched in the near future. With ref to our other recent post on 'what Cohiba to smoke first' , this would strike me as the complete opposite. I have tried the 52 & 54 - no surprise I preferred the 52 but I am not alone there. I have a 56 waiting to be burned, maybe smoke that as part of my 60th Birthday celebrations (there will be several!).

My main object to a new vitola is that they can't produce the these 3 sizes in sufficient quantities to allow most LCDH's to have them, let alone smaller outlets. Never saw any in Havana in our last two visits either. My advice to those wanting a big celebration cigar would be an aged Esplen' with 5-10yrs (I still have a couple with the old bands) or the Sig VI with 5yrs+. Well aged they beat the Behike & at half the price!

It's crazy releasing a 58 when there are barely any of the rest of the line. It's probably a marketing ploy to make the 58 more desirable when released at a high price point.

Agree fully with this Simon, I had a Siglo 6 recently with 5/6 years on and it was beautiful. A cigar I wish I'd bought more of when they were, in today's terms, at a reasonable price.

Now I just pick up a couple of these and the esplendido eaxh year for a cigra for special occasions.

I had a 54 when they first came out and it was very good. Wouldn't go near them at todays prices though. The 58 i saw mooted a while back.

Dont think you can go wrong with a siglo vi or iv. Is there really any value in paying more than a siglo vi? I certainly cant tell an increase in quality.

can only think this is playing to the US and possibly Middle Eastern markets where bigger is seemingly the default for better...

I happen to find the 52 almost the perfect sized cigar for me.... and find the 54 and 56 to be needlessly large.

An aged CoRo is a joy to behold... up from there Sig IV or VI (as mentioned above) and perhaps lancero or esplendio might be nice for an occassion too (also mentioned above)

I'll wager we'll see CR's of the 58 before we see the actual sticks in any great number.... !

We won?t see the 58 in any ?great number? - it is said that it will only be available in a special release humidor, - price of this will of course be in the vicinity of a small home on the outskirts of Norwich [emoji41]

Now... i'm not one to knock Norwich, but that's in Norfolk. A beautiful county full of a curious array of folk from whom the phrase 'Normal for Norflok' was defined. The value of a small home in Norfolk is measured in many ways.... Its fair to say that if you can afford the humidor you wont want your neighbour visiting for a hopeful smoke... much the same as living on the outskirts of Norwich!!

At least Norwich still has a tobacconist who sells cigars though.

These will be out of my reach. The price for the Novedosos for France has just leaked. Close to €1900 per box. That's it for me! They can keep all the new over priced Cohiba releases, I'm not in the game for these. The only thing they can have from me is my middle finger!
