  • Juan Lopez No.1 vs No.2

Looking into my next box purchase with the view of getting some ageing done. I've not tried either of the two cigars in question, but I'm yet to have a cigar I don't like and these come in at my price point, so atm I'm fairly settled on this choice (over the Upmann Mag 46 I was initially looking at).

Looked online but cant find much with any recent relevance to compare the two (apparently there was a change in blend at some point?). But unfortunately doesn't seem as simple as a toss up between the vitola.

So has anyone had either (or both) of these fairly recently to enable some sort of comparison?

The 2's being cheaper and with good reviews, the 1's coming in the Corona Gorda which I think I would prefer size wise as something a bit different. Ageing potential may also play a part.

Any pointers/experience would be helpful (and no, I cant just buy them both [emoji17])

The no.2 would be my choice. An underrated classic.

Cheers guys, that seems to be fairly conclusive then!

So there is a distinctive difference between them then?

Juan Lopez is one of my favorite brands, and you can't go wrong with either tbh. I smashed through a cab of jl2s earlier this year from 2018, all were bang on for a fresh stick

Agree; both are great, but try the No 2 first.

I prefer the No 1. Nicer size to smoke for me.

Why do you have to go and say things like that! [emoji23] thought I'd made my mind up then... But yeah the vitola is what draws me to the No.1 the most, but just dont want to compromise on the flavour, plus the 2s are cheaper... think I'll go for a box of the No.2 and keep an eye out for any No.1's coming up

Sounds like plan to me, more opportunites to smoke the No2 over the longer lasting No, that & being slightly cheaper, is probably why it's more popular.
