After being stuck in the house for the past week great to get out, grabbing chance on my way into town to grab a quick el principe. Never tried a fairly young one before and they taste very different but still really enjoying it.

Finished my course yesterday & arrived in London, in time to take a walk through the City & re-visited for the first time since my birth St Barts. I knew the A&E had been closed yrs ago but was surprised they don't even have a maternity unit any more.

My mother never missed an opportunity to remind me what a traumatic birth it was, forceps delivery, in front of a ring of 12 male medical students but of course it was my head that was being squashed into a pixie shape.

Anyway, had a chat with one visitor, obviously a local who said her husband was born there 67yrs ago & a nurse, who seemed amused I had dropped by & a doctor took a photo of us together.

On to Boisdale's & met up with Midas in the bar. We managed to find a table on a very busy & extremely LOUD evening. I grabbed a quick meal, whilst Midas went up to the Terrace, to secure us a table for two & enjoy his first Belinda Selectos Finos 2000.

On joining Midas, I was pleasently surprised to find it so warm, that I had to remove my coat! We had a pair of 2007 Party No2's, which have been hiding at the back of the Boli cave for over a decade. This was a splendid box of perfectly rolled Havana's, in dark rich wrappers. They really set the evening on a high & tricky act to follow.

Midas then smoked a very decent tubed H. Upmann 50, a bit too light to be best appreciated after the meaty Party. I smoked my very last Cohiba EL 2003,a magnificent smoke, that I last enjoyed 10yrs ago, when I paid my mortgage off. I really can't say it had faded at all, a cigar that will still be a fine smoke in another 10yrs but I won't be paying current auction prices to stow a few more away.

Great to meet up with Midas, who is still new to our hobby but learning very fast. Largely due to the knowledge he has be given on our site. Knowledge, that took my yrs to a cur before Internet clubs were a thing. Many thanks for making the effort to come out & share my birthday, hope we herf again soon.

It was a great evening, the P2 was easily the best Cigar I?ve ever smoked. Now I just need a bigger collection so I can let some rest for 12 years!

Glad you enjoyed your Birthday, I?ll have to bring something special for you next time but it?s got a lot to live up to.
