....How will it affect cigars flying across the Chanel short term?

  • #2
We shall see. No more cigar sales on here for me for the time being. I'l wait until you have shipped 5 or 6 packages to the UK. If they went through without a problem I'll start again, lol.

It is my understanding during the transition period up to the end of the year we are basically out of the eu but with all the same laws and regulations as there are now. So the customs duties and postage should be absolutely the same. That was one of the points of having a deal and not 'crashing out'

After December 31st is when things are supposed to be different. That's when any new trade agreements etc come into play.

Well; that's the current deadline, there is no new trade agreement yet.

No real change until the end of December On 31 Jan we loose our seat at the table, everything else stays the same ie customs, taxes, entry exit requirements etc. The date to really look out for is 31 December 2020, when we will either have a new trade agreement with the EU or revert to WTO regulations.

I think the new Agreement will be pretty much the same...they have to sell their BMW's and Mercedes

That is one of the more powerful negotiation tools the government has. Now that Parliament can?t cry unfair and we won?t allow it. A lot of people don?t realise Europe need the UK as much if not more than the UK needs Europe as a trading partner. I recon the only difference in the relationship will be boarder entry.

Oh oh, what does the EU actually need the UK for again (I?m terms of trade and to sell to that is)? [emoji41]

We either both help each other or both fuck each other over any attempt to get one up on the other party we both lose which I suspect is the likely outcome

Which are wanted by the British public as much as they want to sell them. We make nothing here anymore so not like the british public can fall back to buying a load of products that don?t exist anymore

Manufacturing currently employs 2.7 million people earning an average of ?32,500 and contributes 11% of GVA. I wouldn't say we make nothing here anymore.
