  • Best value for money bigger Montecristos in UK

So after trying most of Cuban puritos and shorts/minis etc. I really enjoy Montecristo puritos. What is the best value for money bigger Montecristo at UK prices? Thanks.

Value for money as in quality? Or smoking time, their standard production tend to be fairly equally prices depending on weight so depends on your Vitola preference.

Best value in the U.K. is probably still through a flight to Barca though!

I believe the Monte No4 is the best value Monte. You pay more for the No5 as the butt you leave is about the same so the smoking area is less. The No3 you pay quite a bit extra for the extra 1/2", which is just a few puffs more.

Plus the no4 is the real classic that if anyone?s not tried is definitely worth it. Not sure if it?s still the most sold Cuban?

The petit 2?s are a solid cigar for a shorter smoke I like those and the petit Edmundo. Not tried the media corona

Indeed, for yrs it was the biggest selling Havana, these days it is the Party SDNo4, I believe.

I,think psd4 is indeed the most sold as well. I do love Double Edmundo which is for me the best Montecristo

The monte no2 petit is a cracking little smoke, especially if you're after something with a bigger RG. I'll echo the others with the Monte 4 - an excellent smoke.

I like all of the Monte range - the 4 is a good place to start though

Personally I prefer the 3 overall though . The king is the Number 2 though, although that is at a higher cost though.

The problem with Monte is that you do get inconsistency, but when they're on song they take some beating

I?m not a fan of the Montecristo Open range, but the Edmundo?s are very good the petit Edmundo if my favourite. I also like the 3 and 5 in the regular production. I will say I feel all Monte?s benefit greatly with a few years of age on them.

A day trip to Madrid, Barcelona or even to Geneva to buy them may well be cheaper that buying a box or two in the UK. However if your looking for singles to explore that?s a different matter.

Interesting...are they cheapest in Geneva or Spain? Hope brexit lowers the prices here in UK!

Generally Spain or if you go to Barca and hire a car drive to Andorra as they?re the cheapest place for cigars outside of Cuba. Barcelona is amazing for finding aged sticks though at standard prices. Last time I was in Barca all of my purchases were over 10 years old at standard govt prices.

That?s one thing I think we all know will only get worse here especially as we?ve always chosen to tax so much higher than Europe anyway! Have to see what happens with the rolling tobacco ban coming and what follows it now
