So, the last of my four stick sampler from new boy on the block Boutique Cigars. This is the El Viejo Continente Mare Nostrum robusto. A nice looking cigar with a chocolate brown wrapper and two bands as well as the obviously compulsory satin ribbon around the foot. The second band takes up so much space that I took it off before lighting but it was very pretty. This one had a very shallow pigtail cap that the Cuban Crafters cutter almost rubbed off without cutting. What can I say about this cigar then? Burn was good with no relights required, ash was pale and flaky. There was a hint of tannin/wood and the flavour was mild all the way through with no change. Sadly it was no different from many other NC cigars I have tried and written off, not unpleasant but doesn't stand out from the crowd. These cigars from Boutique are all good value and the best two were the toro and the lancero but none of them were good enough to buy again. A cheap Cuban is as good as any of these and I've got plenty of NCs that are way better.
I am now going to have to buy some of these cigars! I used to live in Headley where Headley Grange is!
Dont know if this is an old wives tale however the studio at Headley Grange where Zepplin recorded some of their songs was on the second floor. Apparently the stairway to heaven was those stairs to the second floor.

Yeah, I think the idea for the cigar was related to a Zeppelin song, hence the name. Give them a go. The limited edition is a very different smoke, the standard production is nice and mellow, but never boring.
