I have just been diagnosed with Diabetes & was wondering if any cigar smokers here are in the same boat?

Iíve had Diabetes for at least 15 years, itís well managed and controlled. As far as Iím aware there is no sugar or stodgy carbs in a good cigar; and the odd Single Malt or glass of wine with a good meal is something Iím not prepared to totally cut out.

My basic philosophy is everything in moderation, live would be very boring if you follow everything your supposed to do. For me that would be like sitting in the waiting room waiting to die

Sorry to hear that. Without wanting to make light of things and I do know that diabetes and overweightness aren't always linked I reckon go nuts on the stogies - they may curb food cravings?

I am of the same thought process as you, but I suppose I am a bit wary after just finding out and getting use to the idea. Thanks

Yes. I'm currently researching the theory that it can be reversed by red wine and Cuban cigars.

So am I, but my research is a bit broader. Iím examining the positive effects red wine, single malt and rum paired with a good cigar, preferably Cuban or quality Non Cubans can be acceptable, have on diabetes.
