  • Great Places To Smoke A Cigar

Ever the glutton for punishment - I?m off on another cigar book adventure. Laurence Davis (of Sautter fame) and I are collaborating to create the ultimate cigar travel guide - 100 Great Places To Smoke A Cigar.

From snow-capped mountain retreats to palm-fringed private islands; from funky bars in Miami to sophisticated Member?s Clubs across Europe, we want to know all the great places there are to sample a great handrolled smoke and get some peace, superb service and a unique atmosphere.

That?s why we?re calling on all travelling cigar lovers to give us their opinion on great smokes they?ve had across the globe. We can?t guarantee inclusion, but we can guarantee we?ll check out each and every suggestion to help us compile our final 100.

Feel free to add your thoughts and suggestions here, or pass on the details of venues that should be in the book. It?s going to be a fantastic piece of cigar literature and your thoughts and ideas would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

Hang on - you get paid to do this.

I'm sitting in an office staring at a keyboard and listening to whining all day long....

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

Hahaha! Please know I do my fair share of sitting at a keyboard once the fun's over. Honest.

Ooh excellent. I enjoyed the 1st book.

Can there be pics in this one please?

            You can use mine.

1st suggestion - your own shed.

The only places I've smoked cigars (and where I was introduced) was the Middle East. The pick of the lot would probably be Bushido on the Ritz-Carlton complex in Bahrain. Great food and drinks (albeit pricey) and a nice terrace to sit out on with palm trees and a moat surrounding it.

By the time you had your cigar lit there was a waiter bringing out a 'proper' ashtray for you. I found the same at the Gulf Hotel too. The Ritz-Carlton also had a walk in humidor, although it was closed when I was there.

Unfortunately Dubai was too hot to be sat outside smoking while I was there, although I imagine there are plenty of places there as well.

I'd say this one or your own garden or a quiet beach. Don't think the whole cigar bar thing is for me

The Leopard Lounge and Hotel Reserva in Geneva are both great places to smoke cigars.

The smoking cabin or garden gets my vote too! I very rarely smoke cigars in public - it has to be my summerhouse which I built last year and allows me all year round indulgence

Damn dude, that's a lovely summerhouse you've got yourself there...... I've a rather large detached garage at the rear of my property I'm converting into a 'den' once the summer comes.......

for the time being, I've got my deck out back...... again, once the nice weather comes, I'm building a frame to hold a retractable awning that I can extend over it..... to give me privacy from my neighbours! They're a lovely couple, but I subscribe to the notion that 'good fences make good neighbours', lol!
