Where to buy aged cigars?

Hi folks

Been a lurker for a few months, but a beginner cigar smoker (tried my first one: an H Upmann junior a few weeks ago)

On having read a few things it looks like I'd have to age my cigars considerably (eg on cigar reviews, suggestion for the montecristo no 3 is 3 years!!)

I'm only looking to smoke maybe 4 a year so not regularly at all. Is there a good source to buy aged cigars in the UK?

(Live in Scotland, if that makes it easier)

welcome aboard. Very few places market 'aged' stock. but have a look at the inventory of our sponsor and the auctions they run. you'll find aged and collecable at some impressive price points...

Most UK stock is not aged. As advised above, hang around here for long enough and a whole world of possibilities will present themselves!

If you’re smoking infrequently, maybe purchase some sticks to lay down for a few years and invest in something like the Trinidad Reyes or some NC cigars that will smoke well without age.

Ultimately though, this will come down to your own personal preference - you may find that you actually prefer a fresher cigar to those with 5, 10 or 15 years of age.

Not sure where you are. But of you walk into any of the central London stores they have aged boxes and singles.

But be prepared to hammer your credit or debit card!

I think trying to sell a 2017 box of cigars as "vintage" is pushing it a bit.

I?d grab a cheap flight to Barca and hunt round the smaller tabacs, you could pick yourself up a few year supply at that smoking rate with decent age on them for not a whole lot

Are there any CCs that might not need aging (or a few months prob)?

Given that I won't be smoking much (also don't smoke in general) so am focusing on mild/ medium cigars: would aging actually help in any way?

CC?s are almost always rolled from aged tobacco so don?t need ageing in the same way but that doesn?t mean they can?t improve with time down.

Aging will definitely help but taste is subjective you may find you really like younger cigars only real way to find out especially if you?re new to the hobby is try everything you can try and find out the ages and see how much you enjoy them.

That sounds brilliant!!!

Is it just a matter of asking the smaller tabac owners how long they've had it or would they know what I mean by an aged cigar?

(I'm assuming it's just stuff that's moving very slowly for the seller so the cigar is just in the humidor for a few years...am I correct?)
