    Just an update

After maybe a week of posting this smoked the following

    1. Montecristo no. 4: Absolutely terrible for me! Too strong never doing that again

    2. Montecristo no. 2: Very good. Really liked this. So far best one I've had

    So in order of liking

    1. MC no. 2
    2. HUpmann Corona Junior

Might try some new ones during this isolation period!

Strange you thought the No4 too strong & enjoyed the No2. THE No2 is a far superior vitola for sure but the I wouldn't say the No2 is milder. Try the Hoyo Range, light but very tasty.

The Monte 4 is quite often touted as a good newbie cigar so that’s interesting. I’ve never thought of it as a particularly strong cigar so I would advise never say never, tastes can change over time.

It’s also possible you had a bad example or one that was very young or “green” and this is what caused such a bad experience. Monte 4 is one of the biggest sellers so stock will turnover very frequently leading to a younger product.

If you stick around to the point you get PM’s I’d be happy to send you one with a few years on to allow you to revisit it.

Hi AxlJack I started smoking cigars when I was 16 and my dad and me would have one couples times a month and he would let me pick one from his humidor which was good start for me. I started buying different cigars at my local shop with the money I used to get from part time job lol and I tried loads funnily enough I just used to pick mine by the ones I liked the look of but then I started getting more into it and reading up on it and then I started buying ones I liked the taste of. I love montecristo and especially a monte 2 I would keep trying the no.4 as sometimes the cigar doesn’t match the mood your in or food you have eaten or drink your having. I would say just keep trying ones and find ones that suit your palette as the only person who really knows is you as cigar preference is a personal thing. This is bit long winded reply but hope it helps.
