      That's quite a lineup! Enjoy. I desperately need some sun and am considering a solo trip to the canaries myself too actually. Sorry about the job, but it doesn't sound like you're too concerned?

      Happy birthday for Friday - I won't remember...

              Getting back home is not going to be easy.
              My flight of next Saturday was cancelled, this airline company will cancel all flights as from that date.

              Great news, in their press releases they insure they will do everything within their capabilities to bring everyone home [emoji848]

              I explain my situation to their helpdesk, they check for alternative flights = nada, and also consult flights of partner companies = nada. ?Everything? for them ends here I guess, because as from then the only thing they offered was a voucher to compensate for this cancelled flight.

              Let?s try another company, I am able to book a flight at high price for today, but unable to reserve a seat. At the airport, it turns out that the flight was overbooked with at least 50; so not going home today.

              I understand this is an exceptional situation, but these guys try to make profit on a horrible pandemic.

              Now still, seats for tomorrow?s flight are available and I am sure that when you book now you only have a minor chance of being on that plane. I guess they are hoping people don?t show up by which they obtain double commission. Moreover they jeopardize the health of all people by keeping them in an airport for many hours, with a minimal chance of being able to leave.

              Anyway, I am ok around here, unfortunate that the GF is home when I would be stuck here for a long time, but I wanted to share my experience.

              I didn?t disclose any of the companies as this might be against the rules around here, really wanted to but kept myself together ;lol;

              To finish on a positive note, still enough cigars available for at least 2 weeks

                  I'm sorry to hear that Steve. What really pisses me off is that the airline companies try to make more money in a situation like this! A friends sister is a nurse in Senegal and she's trying to get back to France, the plane fare (Air France) was €3300! Bastards! I hope that you'll be able to get home!

                    Thanks mate. It is quite sunny, so I am not really complaining about that. Only blow is my girlfriend, I wouldn?t like it to stay here for weeks without her. Not that I am in tears or something but in these times she prefers I am with her. No LCDH here, but a great Habanos Specialist with really nice stuff, however all shops are closed except for pharmacies, supermarkets and food stores. I did find a supermarket with a limited number of CC?s, they seem to be well stored so I will not run out of smokes. Again, I am more than ok and the climate is much better than home, so don?t feel sorry. Wanted to share my experience and the fact that airline companies are trying to make a profit from this situation

                      That is outrageous, my one way ticket was 400?, which is also a lot, but nothing compared to that freaking rate from Air France

                              Airline companies over here are likely to get masses of help from the government using tax money. Then they'll probably raise prices to pay back the loan of our money. Or they'll be bailed out.

                              The way the world works is just not sustainable in so many ways.
                              .--
                              I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

                                I agree re credit - if we all owned out houses outright there would be way fewer problems. However I don't see how airlines could better operate? Presumably they need an army of employees that they have to pay for regardless of how few flights there are which is the problem?
