I doubt that I am the only one trying to decide how sensible it is to be smoking at this time. For myself, I am mildly asthmatic , and smoking doesn't normally make make any difference to my breathing. On the one hand I think sod it, I might as well enjoy some of the nice cigars I've acquired while I can, and on the other hand I think is it really sensible to be doing anything that potentially could impair my breathing if, or perhaps more realistically when I get the flu. I'm kind of coming down somewhere in the middle, and enjoying a few of my nicer cigars like the SLR Inca that I had yesterday, but I don't think that when I have to go into self isolation that I'm going to be increasing significantly the amount that I smoke. Just wondering what other people's thoughts are on this.

I?m personally going to continue smoking cigars simply because the smoke is not inhaled. I think any cigarette smokers should be seriously considering quitting, not necessarily for this pandemic (it?s a bit late for that) but for any possible future ones, not to mention the obvious health benefits going forward.

Unless we catch it we won't be isolating as I work for the police and my wife for the NHS so life to some degree will continue as normal as will my cigar consumption.

From my point of view, as long as I am going to work (and therefore not showing symptoms) then I'll be smoking cigars. Its actually a good excuse to get out in the garden for a bit

I'm still working as usual and with the weather finally starting to improve I'm smoking more but not by much. I only smoke a couple a week and time away to myself without a constant stream of negative news is something I'm particularly enjoying right now.

You might not intentionally inhale, but that doesn't mean you don't.

I stopped over a week ago just to be on the safe side. Im a surveyor going to lots of places every day and my partner works retail so i felt i was likely to get it sooner or later.

Then a few days ago we both came down with it. Not been tested but im pretty sure i have it. It started about 3 days ago with a sore throat dizziness and lethargy. Then over the weekend i started to feel short of breath and had some headaches. It was really unnerving not being able to breathe properly and feeling knackered just getting some food ready.

It is now coming and going. Feel better for a few hours then need to lie down for a few hours. Lots of muscle aches like cramp. It is absolutely exhausting.

Im 34 with no underlying health conditions but i can see why this would hit an older person with health issues really hard. It isnt like a flu - ive had a few over the years and this is unnervingly different.

At the end of the day it is up to you. If you are at home all day and very unlikely to catch it then i guess it doesn't make much difference. If you are out and about i would suggest give your lungs the best chance possible.

Stay safe guys and dont go to work unless you absolutely have to.

[emoji23] You're right, every now and again I manage to mess it up and hope that nobody was looking!

I?m unintentionally not working, and not really seeing people, so I am enjoying my cigars as usual

Until the weekend... I was abstaining... but boredom and sunshine broke me....

Beautiful day. Wish i could have a beer and a cigar but that feels a fair way off at the moment.
