        First cigar review

Interesting article/podcast here on tasting cigars
In episode 18 of Cigar Sense Podcast, we propose you a sensory exercise that will help develop your palate. We'll talk about how to differentiate aromas

more interesting was the note at the end of the email I received, regarding loss of taste as an early indicator of Covid-19 infection.
        [emoji33]

        the footnote reads

After we recorded the episode, we read that studies in progress, also in Italy, have shown that the lowering of the sense of smell can be a sign of presence of Covid-19. Anosmia is the loss of the ability to perceive odors and flavors in the mouth. As coronavirus tests are scarse, you can use the exercise in this episode to understand that we really need isolation.

Tbh I even struggle to separate coffee from chocolate sometimes... Not being a coffee drinker I just assume that what I'm tasting is 'kinda coffee-ish' if it's not quite chocolate.

I also don't know what cream is supposed to taste like in a cigar [emoji848]

I think of creaminess as when the smoke is thick, silky and plentiful.

Cream is one of the flavours I get most easily and frequently. Especially in Hoyo’s (pun intended) but in other cigars as well.

I'd always thought it was meant to describe a 'texture' as well, until I saw it described as a flavour

The main things I find I can distinguish - apart from tobacco - are chocolate, nuts (no idea what type) and....leather! I?d say the latter is when you have a new belt and open it. It?s that kind of reminder that hits me.

For me cream isn?t a flavour of cream per say more to do with the smoothness and affects the taste in a similar way to adding cream in cooking

The Hoyo Epicure Especial is frequently
touted as the king of cream, hence my use of the word especially.

Very nice review - the reviews which get the taste of slight over-brewed Chai Tea which a hint of freshly ground cinnamon stick and with a Mars bar coming through in the background are written by people with over-active imaginations IMO

I getty nutty, or chocolatey, or coffee, but never anything more than that. The most important factor is whether I enjoyed it or not
