• Does a collection like this have any value?

I have been in contact with the vendor - there is an offer on the table.
I have no idea about any of them! Just that I?d be willing to take a punt on the Cubans.

All unopened, are these worth anything? Is there a market for vintage unopened smokes?

There?s a value but it all depends on condition, how have they been stored.

The value could vary from all in the tubes and that?s all to actually being worth a little but what?s there not a whole lot. Only really the Cubans that would interest me too other than a B&H panetela for the novelty!

Personally wouldn?t buy something like this blind

The Cubans will be worth a punt if the price is right. The rest I'd body-swerve....
I've bought load of old tubos over the years and they've almost always been fine.

Ask if the vendor will sell just the CCs

Good find. Those Cubans could be real gems if they have been stored correctly. The Jamaican Tropical Deluxe and Temple Hall could be interesting too. I once had a vintage Macanudo cigar from the 70s courtesy of Wigan via Simon Bolivar and it was excellent.

So out of interest, what would you think a fair price would be for all the tubed cigars?

Apart from the RyJ, the tubos aren't regarded as top-end. They would be fairly basic prices back then and some of them are still available AFAIK
.....and they're still fairly cheaply priced.

I'd reckon ?75-100 would be the most I'd risk. Try to get them cheaper though.....

Have you got pictures of them untubed?

No extra pics although I?m not sure I?ll need them.
It will be a low ball offer as I think you?re all right.
Maybe no saving the Cubans at all...

I have a collection of these old cigars which I used to display. Most of them are dry cured and don't require any humidification. If they're still sealed they should still be smokable. I tried some pre-decimal ones and they were fine.

Yes definitely not worth close to that, he should be biting their arm off if he?s been offered that!

Yeah walk away from this one sounds wise of your only really interested in the Cubans.

I did buy a small collection couple of years ago. But I could go and look first hand.

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...
