Apologies for high jacking the thread, but on a similar note, have you fine gents experienced any difference with the various brands of butane for sale?

Nope. I just buy a recognised brand like Swan.

@geoffbot recommended me to buy a few from ebay as a cheap lighter to get started. They are an absolute steal!!!
I would love to get something more fancy, but the Maxi Jet does the job fine for now

I think gojira is referring to the ST DuPont version (fancy!). I love my Minijet but have others as well.

The moment you realise you aren't one of the rich kids...

Well mine cost ?3-4, who's laughing now?! If anyone needs me I'll be alone with my Maxi Jet having a little cry....

Anyone smoking a few ?15 cigars a week can afford a ?50-100 lighter if needs be, but I think the rate of returns dimishes considerably... They all light cigars. I lose em too often. That's not to say I won't get a colibri stealth sometime soon...
Stay smoky

Yes, that's the one. I made a typo, my bad: Maxijet, not Maxi Jet. Brilliant lighter, I'm amazed at how many cigars one can light with one filling and I really like the flame as it's rather small in diameter. It gives one much more control when lighting a cigar.

Absolutely. Compared to the zippo butane I have the flame is definitely hotter, I believe by design as it has small air intakes to boost oxygen for combustion.

Hahah a nice lighter I think is something you ?treat? yourself with once you?ve been enjoying cigars for a while. That?s said I?ve dropped mine that many times it looks like a ?5 special! Works a treat though

Funny I have quite a collection of lighters that I?ve accumulated over the years including a DuPont and a Dunhill soft flame that was a present from my grandmother in the late 70?s when I smoked cigarettes. But I always favour the same lighter as is a reliable workhorse.

How can a Dupont lighter be worth almost ?1000 ?
They look nice but HOW MUCH !

After much consideration, I've decided on the Xikar Verano in silver, I went onto our sponsors website and asked if there was a promo code, as I'm a forum member, they said no, I also asked if they did free delivery, they said no, so I ordered it from Amazon, same price and free delivery, what's the point of having a sponsor with no benefits, doesn't make sense, atb Daz
