  • King of Cuban short smokes?

Apologies if this has been discussed before but over the winter months I got into short smokes in a big way, to the point where I think maybe 80% of my cigars are comprised of these vitolas. The thing is, now that summer is here I haven't felt the need to smoke anything else. They just seem to be exactly what I need in terms of smoking satisfaction and time available. It's got me thinking...which is the best Cuban short smoke? Out of the Minutos, perlas, Petite Coronas, half Coronas, short robostos that I have tried my top 5 it would be:

1- Bolivar PC/Bolivar CJ (so similar, just different lengths)
    2- Partagas Shorts
    3- Monty 4
    4- Trinidad Reyes
    5- San Cristobal El Principe

Honourable mentions to Monty Petite Edmundo, R & J Short Churchill, PLPC (sometimes)

    Where do others stand?

How about the RASCC buddy? If you haven't tried, you wont be disappointed. I'm sure a few other members will agree

That was the obvious missing gem Moley, you beat me to it! I would also add, Hoyo PR & for the more special days Cohiba Exquisitos. Off course vintage machine made's have their place too.

Yes! Should have got a mention. I have only had them from 1 box and they didn't blow me away. I know they are very well regarded. Maybe I'll pick some more up as it could have just been an unlucky box

Hoyo PR have not been good for me but I haven't had one with more than 2 years on. I have half a box put away to try in 3/4 years. I haven't tried the Cohiba Exquistos but

The humble petit Quintero is also worthy of a mention I'd say. Excellent value for the quality.
El Principes probably wins it for me, followed by RASCC. I really like the format too, great flavour delivery in a small package.

I left it off my list as I find them too inconsistent. They can be very rough smokes in my opinion. Everyone loves them so it must just be a personal preference

And of course the glorious ERDM DT, no slouch, this modest stick is a flav bomb, designed to go with a morning coffee. And for this who think it isn't worth aging lighter marca's try a 10-20yo DT & notice the difference yourself.
