  • Non-UK Retailers and Tax Evasion Discussions

Please do not discuss tax or import duty evasion on the forums.

Please do not discuss non-UK sources on the forums.

Any posts disregarding these very two simple rules will be deleted and you will be banned.

Discuss your cigars, but by doing this, we're presuming you have paid the correct duty and tax in regards to the items you've purchased.

Grey market trading, i.e. purchasing from individuals abroad without paying associated tax, is considered discussion of a non-UK retailer.

Please refrain from discussing these sources on our forum.

    Thanks,

    Dean.

Deano, what about bombings from Non-UK members? Are these posts forbidden too? Bombs are gifts by kind souls and have nothing to do with tax evasion!

As long as they've paid the correct tax and duty and followed the guidelines set by the law, I don't see why not.

Cigars as gifts from outside the UK is a bit of a grey area Saggy .... meant to be for Birthdays, Anniversaries only. (Christmas dosn't count)

I think it's OK for us to send cigars abroad as gifts, but not Cuban cigars to the USA.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

In that case, can we have thread / sticky on how we would go about paying the correct duty and where this can be done? Hands up who really knows how to do this?
Then there's no confusion you can point newbies here ensuring they read it as part of the signup process.
Watta ya think Deano? Would that give a bit more protection to the forum?

Not a clue Boss. But anyone attempting to Render unto Caesar might just be opening all sort of retrospective cans of worms for themseves!

It would help, but it won't mean that we can still discuss non UK sites, the risk is just too high.

I think the sender is responsible for this.

Thinking about it, it proberbly involves two agencies.

                              HM Customs & Excise (Duty)

                              Inland Revenue (VAT)

Sounds like a lot of form filling to me.
