Blimey, only 5 months on, and it seems like the forums have been going for years.

Got a good crew together, nice to see a decent community form.

We're currently standing at 517 threads, with a massiveeee 5,556 posts and 133 members - although only 53 are actively posting.

I don't think thats bad for a UK-orientated Cigar forum in 5 months!

I meant to say... and I've been thinking about this for a while...

This is the only forum I've been on where people don't have blazing rows. The other ones I tap into are music-based forums, and the fights become nasty. Police action is threatened at times! It's not about people having rows about bands. It's about full-on insults that are bloody. I've received a bit of bad trolling in my time, and I've lost sleep over it.

I'm very pleased that on here nobody fights and bawls. It's a relief.

I'm also not a good "straight" forum contributor and tend to muck about with the way I express things very purposefully. (My life is too "straight" and literal, so I like to have a bit of fun in places like this). I don't fabricate anything, but I do like to make mashed potatos of my thoughts on a web screen. As long as it doesn't irritate you folk too much, I will carry on in this same way.

For me, I'm learning lots more about cigars through the site. And there is a sense of familiarity already with all of you who post regularly.

If and whenever the opportunity arises to smoke a good one together when passing through each other's patches, I'm all for it. As long as it's not too fucking freezing, as it was with Dean and Nic Wing when we met up over the last couple of months for mini herfs.

The last sage point from me - before I get my gig togs off - is that sod whoever knocks our genteel habit. We know what we're doing and we love it.

We must quietly resist the nanny state! I won't wield an axe to someone's skull about cigars, but I'll smoke a crafty one within banned walls if I can. And I have. And it felt magnificent!

If anything, this site has given me bigger balls to carry on and indulge in our sublime pleasure.

I think you're absolutely right about the forum. Its nice to chat and not have some ignorant, self loathing window licker mistaking differing opinions as personal assaults.

I welcome a heated debate but don't see it as anything other than healthy discussion... and as I'm sure many of the opposing politicians do.... think it should be followed by a good drink and idle (idol? lol) chat.

I really enjoy this forum. Not least because everyone seems (relatively) normal but far from dull!

I have smoked a number of good cigars in that pub in the clip. Set-up time. Between sets time. On the same spot.

I just think a bloke should still be allowed to do this.

I've been playing in another pub/club this evening and am so pissed off that the people wanting to smoke had to stand outside and freeze in a sort of chicken hutch. It is BLOODY cold here in Deal tonight.

How undignified for smokers.

I'm still with ballsed-up nose and throat and can't approach a Havana yet. I'm getting fed up with the wait, but am not in an addict's cold turkey state.
