I thought Big J loved Partagas to the extent that a man could love a cigar BUT you my friend (Mr. Manure) You need serious help!

Sending me a box of 898's would greatly improve my condition.

My congratulations on a fine post.

As usual, you provide a profound and erudite commentary, resplendent with typically precise observations.
          Bravo!

Now . . . if I may. . those of us still waiting to secure a box of these (discontinued) treats, respectfully request you (temporarily at least) 'pop-a-cork-in-it'!

          Don't say that!!!
Thank you ever so, Catman--a finer compliment could not be had.

And I respectfully agree not to tell you to pop a cork in any orifice--I would never do such a thing (publicly). However, I would like to reiterate that if you haven't had one of these exquisite 898's, then you are a woefully deprived individual. Cheers!

The 8-9-8 (varnished) is one of my favorites and a go-to Partagas for me.
            Yummy.
I'm considered to be a very slow smoker and I cannot understand how you can make a Dahlia last 2 hours.

But hey: more pleasure to you!

Well, you know, I did say nearly two hours. Perhaps it was closer to a hour and a half, but it was an involving smoke. One could liken the experience to listening to Stairway To Heaven or A Day In The Life--they may not be the longest songs ever recorded, nor the shortest, but you feel as if you've been on a sort of timeless journey by the end of them.

ditto ... must say Souls eulogy does sorta do that ... 'cept, Partagas don't like me much for some reason, so might pass on trying an 898 until after I've mastered the DS4s.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

Just realised something... I still haven't said what a great review this is! Great work soul. A wonderful love letter.

Must get myself a hold of some (being a big fan of both Partagas and Lonsdales), still haven't had one...

                          .
It takes me anywhere from an hour and 40 minutes to 2hrs to smoke an 898. To me is a marathon not a sprint. Don't want to be like my buddy that smokes a Churchill in 40 minutes.

Yes, and you definitely want to have food in your stomach before attacking this stick.

Woe is me, my life incomplete
The Party 898 i long to meet
I dread the day, it touches my lips
for a 2 hour smoke is one for keeps

Reviews i have read and sorely digested
The partagas series, ive never rejected
And now to my list i fear i must add
The partagas 898, soulmanure, you are such a cad.

How will i sleep at night and work in the day
Until a Party 898 just happens my way
In isolation i now sit and ponder
And add to my list a nice stick to plunder

When the time comes, and then when its past
From what your all saying the gar maybe my last
Tempted and teased, and hunger for this
I guess i best add this to my most wanted list

I'll admit it, I didn't have you down as the poetic type eggy. Very Byron-esque...
