And I was stuck at home due to the snow, oh bum!
"In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love, they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock!"

A question for my more learned colleagues. There were a few cases of seemingly very similar items selling for very different prices.
eg. Lot 153 - Cohiba Siglo VI Gran Reserva ?450
Lot 268 - Cohiba Siglo VI Gran Reserva ?1400

Would the disparity be the result of bidders pre auction inspection and quality assessment or does it actually demonstrate that in amongst all those premium prices being paid the occasional bargain lot falls through the cracks?

No chance. Somebody from Hong Kong (I think) was buying all of the intact boxes of Dunhill Seleccion everything. they went so high because there were two Hong Kong guys bidding each other up.

Congrats to the seller of the lot who was thrilled that he broke the record.

Giuseppe got some very nice Davidoffs though and a few other gems.

Just seen Mitch's press release, it was a Japanese Collector, looks like he had the top 3 lots.

It's a misprint. On the website 153 and 154 are reversed. The Gran Reservas went for 1300 pounds and Seleccion Reservas went for 450 pounds.

Ah thanks, that would make more sense.
