  • Expanding Variety!

Been smoking Cubans for a lot of years now & mostly kept to the 'same old'... since being a member here I've realised there are a LOT more cigars I should try (in some cases maybe again) I can't remember all I've smoked as my passion goes back to the dark ages!
I've gathered a lot of info on what I should try ( Thanks guys!) But:
Are there any marcas I should avoid in my new quest?

Oh, is that what the T stands for .... and the big I 'spose is the purchase size in Evans's?

I would say no. It's just some vitola within the brands or some years may not be as good as others. I've avoided all the new OPEN series Monte's, not on any experience, but on reading poor reviews .... Whether the reviews are justified .... I don't know???

The reviews are justified IMHO. I have found the construction & burn of that whole linea to be superb, Taste & finesse almost non existent.

I have tried the Monte Open Eagle & that is a nothing cigar, as Warren says, very well made but bored stiff by the second third....got 'em cheap though!

That's because you have been smoking the chinese JPLs. Try a JLP sometime.

I tried the JLP Petit Cazadores after a few on here recommended them and they are excellent value for money IMO. I think the only others I've tried were the Brevas which were nowhere near as enjoyable.
Regarding the original question, try them all! Maybe as singles first though...
