  • Live reports from C.Gars Auction

For those interested in what happens at Mitch's auction at Boisdale CW tomorrow night, I will be reporting live via my Twitter feed and with pics and video later from my blog at www.montycristo.com. By all means Tweet me if you've any queries or interest in a particular lot. Should be a fun night.

If I tell you what I have bid for, will everyone promise not to bid for them?

The Forum used to have little icons on posts to show if a member had Twitter or Facebook accounts so you could add them. Since this function appears to be gone, how do you Follow someone when you don't know his real name or e-mail addy?

Thanks for clearing that up CIV. And you can rest assured Simon Bolivar that I at least won't be bidding on anything in competition with you. My interest is purely professional

That's very reassuring Monty, I will say that I have a bid on two lots. It's less than I would have liked to bid for but if I win both, probably more than I can afford! Luckily I have a good friend to do a spilt share with, should I actually win my first lot at a cigar auction. I seem to keep chosing what the weathly clients that Mitch has, want too. Still if they clear the board this time, I'll definately wait until I can attend in person before bidding again (mind you I said that last time & the time...).
Have a great time yourself, are you staying for the dinner?

Should be a terrific night out on the Boisdale terrace, sorry I am missing this one.

A long-shot that I've just posted on Twitter... (Even more of a long-shot now that the event has kind of started...) Is there anyone who is going who would be kind enough to place a proxy bid for me please? I would, of course, send you my details to provide if successful. I kind of left the online bidding a little late. Oops.

I have just checked the Cgars website & the results are already posted! I lost my first bid Lot 82, an excellent looking wooden box of Boli D.T.'s from '95, went for ?270, ?70 over estimate. Looks like I won my second bid though, went for just ?22 under my limit, should get confirmation tomorrow.

                        Congratulations on your winning bid.

Glad I wasn't there - may well have bought one of the lots I wanted, and would then probably have got a little carried away and blown a budget I don't really have on the RyJ Sealords.

Thanks Simon, did anyone else win a Lot or two?

Was there for the event and it was a good show. Amazing to see how much money some people have.

Some great lots, stayed for dinner and was sublime once again.

I had a bid on the D.T.'s as well - and I didn't get them either! I seem to have been successful on a box of Boli G.M.'s, though.
