    • Today, a meerschaum lined pipe with some drier and better Scotch Cake, whilst cleaning all my other regular rotation pipes. It was curiously meta.

No SJ, it isn't and it's the oddest tobacco I've ever encountered too

TBH, I wasn't able to get into a canter, never mind give it a good gallop, but I'll have another go and let you know SJ.

So...Many...Horse jokes! I'm sure you'll get back in the saddle soon... Maybe it needs to dry out, make it a three day event...

            Okay I'll stop.

Today I'm catching up with Fortitude whilst smoking some black and brown in the churchwarden. Subtle caramel goodness.

                • I love a good flashback! The fella has a good technique eh. I've now loaded a bunch of pipes to smoke this way, although I have to resist the temptation to poke the baccy down.

                  • That's something I also remember from somewhere in the dim past! I honestly am having a sensory memory, the wafting smell of pipe smoke. I've not tried that way, having been "stuff it thricely" with most of late. This will be experimented with tomorrow morning. 👍

P.S. Experiment № 1 complete, well shredded roll cake deluxe filling an Ozark Maple cob using this method. It's nifty how the pipe does fill. I resisted tamping down too hard and it burned quite well, if a little hot (probably due to higher airflow). I think the trick with this method is rubbing the tobacco just so, it being the right moisture, and smoking at the right rate. The actual filling like this is the easy bit!

Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment as you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it!

                            • Unreasonably grotty weather today, but managed a plod to smoke a bowl of Kendal Plum and Rum in a Dr. Plumb (seemed funny at the time). Apologies for no picture, but no handy waterproof camera.

I see what you did there...

More rum flavoured tobacco here. Odd thing about this pipe is that if I don't wedge it in the 9mm filter moves about when I take a puff. It rises up the stem with 1 or 2mm of travel so it clonks, having the effect of making me take shorter puffs. Probably a 2nd/reject as I got it from ebay.
