  • Buying from European sites

    Hi all

hope im not breaking any rules here, if so please remove.

Question being has anyone bought from sites in Europe and what is the duty to be paid if any? Is it a bit hit or miss with customs or are they on point each and every time. I have a friend that wants to buy some sticks for his wedding in a couple of weeks and he doesn't usually smoke cigars and wants something 'decent' as he says without dropping a wedge. I already have a cohiba robusto stashed away for it so im good!

just want to give him best advice.

    cheers,

rules are no discussion of overseas vendors....
when to buy from Europe? On holiday.
buying from Europe from the UK- many no longer ship but some do.
Customs - read HMRC website its quite clear.

You can often recover the costs of a trip in money saved buy buying abroad, remember the limit coming back is only 50 cigars per person. Another 50 for the wife/GF of course...

Unless inside the EU - prior to BREXIT anyway, you can bring back what you like, as long as you state it's for personal use. I went to Amsterdam last Feb and brought back 250

It was certainly a wake up call for my problems, but doesn't even tickle what some of the big boys on this forum get. I honestly things RobustoClubHavana gets them by the pallet

two cigars at a weekend they would last me years and years. i keep having to hold myself back from going home and lighting up. But to be fair some weekends i don't even get the time to sit for an hour and chill. Im definitely going to get a bigger humi as the bug is biting!!

That's why you need to buy smokes in all shapes and sizes (vitolas) so you can have that 30min smoke if that's all you have time for, or a 3 hour smoke when it all fits into place

Just feeding your bug now haha
