Something ive thought about doing for a while now but Deano's challenge made it all the more appealing / nudge in the right direction.....

I dont want to start at the very beginning but basically like alot of people who find beer and pies my weight started to lash on everyone notices it, i could no longer by tops from regular stores and the internet became my friend, im 6'2" and have a very broad back so i 'carry it well' to the point of being apx 8 stone more than i wanted to be. Now i appreciate that a cigar forum is where B/Sotl can hang out without prejudice or having to sucumb to everyday stereotypes or feel bad about themselves so this isnt going to be a get fit preaching or look after yourself deal. No its just going to be a place where i can put a few words down to help me with my own journey and probably vent a few frustrations along the way......

At the start of 2011 i weighed in at 23 stone, my eldest boy ( now just turned 5) is starting to get a bit sportier / active - being the smallest in his class ( takes after his mum) is going thru a getting pushed n shoved stage so on my rare days off work i like to take him (and his 9month old brother) to the park and kick a ball around and encourage him you know - im ginger with glasses so was never picked first in teams etc BUT i did join the forces where i suppose my inner athlete was revealed / beaten out of me and id love Adam to get into things early and here lies the problem... im just knackered trying to keep up with the fast little bugger!! so thats it enough is enough time to release the inner athlete again, and if im honest doing it for the kids is an excuse its really for me and my own happiness but for some reason having those thoughts seemed 'weak' - im 38 years old, been ex-forces through redundancy over 15 years and i intend to reverse the 15 years of damage in 2 ! as in i have set myself a goal of reaching 15 stone and fit with it by my 40th
It is now May and im currecntly 19st, yes 4 stone gone ! no crash diets or any of the celebrity bollocks im a meat eating, beer drinking guy who likes a curry / burger like the next bloke and get this my change in habits has paid for me to buy my first desktop humi, travel humi and ALL the cigars ive smoked this year.... now this becomes more than just a typical middle aged bloke loosing weight story it becomes interesting ( to me anyway)........
