so ladies and gentleman what is your preffered holding technique?

my favourite at the moment in time is 1 over 2 under
however a simple V is normally what i adopt most of the time

For me it's usually thumb against first two fingers. But sometimes, i wrap my first and second fingers right around it, with the thumb and other two fingers tucked underneath in a kind of clasp.

However, when I get down to the business end I hold it however feels right to avoid burning my fingers and get as much out of the smoke as possible.

Being abit low on funds at the moment after me and my Girlfriend buying our house I certainly think holding it any way possible without the finger burning is something im taking on board to save every last penny haha

Exactly the same as this for me.

I'm not sure on my feelings towards attaining to the proper etiquette that may be in place for holding a cigar. My personal feeling is that comfort and enjoyment go hand in hand. If I found myself fretting over the exact placement of each of my fingers or the like, I think my comfort levels, and therefore my enjoyment levels would drop dramatically.

I can’t say I ever really thought about it.
Been sat it my desk with a pen (acting as a cigar) getting strange looks I might add....
I seem to use a modified v with the cigar low at the point of the v but as I get nearer the nub the cigar travels up to a position traditionally used by fag smokers.
im not going to lose any sleep over it though if it feels right then who cares...

Thumb underneath, Index finger wrapped over the top, until it burns down to the nub then it's any way that works.

If I remember, the thumb and index finger technique was banded around by some aficionados to try and separate cigar smokers from those oh so evil cigarette people

Thumb and index finger for me. Once I get down to the nub however, I pince the end with the middle, index and thumb with lit end facing towards the palm (the cigarette smoker in me!) to get that little bit extra out of a cigar. I don't care how your supposed to hold it though, same reasons as mentioned before.

I used to hold it between my thumb and index finger but i found when i was walking around i always managed to swipe the ash across my coat and a black coat with white/grey streaks dosnt look good.

So now i just hold it like a ciggie so if it swipes across anything it will be someone else's coat and im perfectly fine with that to be honest though ive never really cared for all this "holding it right and removing the band lark" its my stick ill smoke it how i want thank you very much.

Between my thumb and next two fingers - particularly if I'm smoking a large cigar. If I'm smoking something smaller like a robusto, then just my thumb and index finger.
