Hey boys, I've been told that ALL cigar prices will be rising in the next few weeks, is this true? I've only heard it through the grape vine so hence why I'm looking for clarification. Thank guys, James

I would guess that the budget will have the duty increase above inflation as usual on Wednesday. Not heard about the wholesale price but wouldn't be shocked. -

The Chancellor increases tax on smokes in the Budget and all importers almost immediately increase prices which feeds into the retail market fairly fast....always been that way

The changes were not massive that I can remember last time, on cigarettes they were noticable but I think, and I could be totally wrong, that it was a couple of quid on a box of 25?
Luckily I just stocked up on a box of BHK52, Monte #3 and some of those Winston Churchill Lancasters so my big spending is mostly done this year

Ok, as if its not expensive enough, was hoping to order some stuff in a week or 2 but that has totally put me off, I know it sounds silly but I have been unemployed since September and just spent ?720 on my survival for offshore and was hoping to treat myself but now maybe not!A cigar is not measured by its cost - It is measured by how much it burns your fingersComment

The increase should be something like inflation +1-2% which makes it 5-6%. As duty Is about 1/3 - 1/2 the cost of cigars your looking at a 2-3% increase in cost usually on the day of the budget or a couple of days later.Comment
