  • Been busy lately so here's a quick catch up.

Since getting back from my Fishy Scottish hols at the end of April, I have been mega busy. The two week trip straight afterwards was a whirl & I spent any free time I had had writng up my fishing log & stats. The follwing leave was just as bad & little or now time to myself. I mention this as I had promsied to continue my Falklands story after my hols but besides the heavy workload, to be honest I was just buzzing from my hols & on a natural high, which I didn't want to bring down sooner than necessary by getting stuck into the story straight away.
Since then many things have come up to prevent me really getting down to it again, although I have been doing a lot of background reading, which has been very interesting & thought provoking. This includes Nicci Pugh's book on the SS Uganda, whcioh fille dme in on alot of detail Ididn't know that was going on onboard whilst I was doing my thing inother part of ship. Stories of the survivors & how they coped after arrivng back in the UK & later re-adjusting to civy life. A book on the Argentine conscripts, telling what it was like from their point of view, being shelled & bombed by frigates & harriers. No mass welcome home for them.
Anyway time has slipped by & already the anniversary of the surrender is coming up. So having cleared my cigar & fishing logs for May/June already I am going to get stuck back into it tomorrow.
I have managed a few decent smokes during this time but mostly haven't even found time to post the pics so here's a few of them:

NC from RickMG Stateside, nicely compared with my regular fishing smoke Belinda Princess.NC.2012.05.28.IMG_1666.jpg

Hoyo No1 '01, in Boisdales Belgravia on Wed.Hoyo.Epi.No1.2012.06.06.IMG_1687.jpg Noted in my cigar journal that this was my first visit there this yr, for the last few yrs I have been going every 5/52.Hoyo.Epi.No1.2012.06.06.IMG_1690.jpg
Boli BF 2001, gifted by Tippex, Boli.BF.2012.06.07.IMG_1693.jpga splendid smoke, enjoyed whilst stuck on the beach due to weather. A much better option than being stuck offshore for the same reason! Managed a smoking room & after a decent steak this was the perfect end to the day, cheers mate.

Useful to know to leave my LGC Belux alone for a good while longer...

    Cheers Simon!

Looks like you've done okay Simon. Wow, I don't remember sending you anything that looked as bad as that H.Upman but glad it smoked okay.

I believe the term is 'Rustic' but as I said, it smoked better than it looked. Actually if you hadn't sent it, I wouldn't have even tried it but that's the beauty of being gifted cigars, you get to try stix you never normally would & some aren't going to suit you but others suprise & amuse.
