Good morning everyone. I need your help. Ive been offered a sealed box of La Hoja Rica, Hand made in Santiago, Dominican republic 25 churchill 46x6 3/4 for ?55. never heard of them and need your opinions. I have an hour to buy or reject them .

Never heard of them, but 25 x Churchills for 55 quid might be worth a punt. Even if you then fob non-cigar loving friends off with them!

Dherm your always being offered sticks! I would take the risk and like Deano says, if they are awful just pass them onto unspecting friends.

ive had La Rica before and they where ok nevr heard of La Hoja Rica though so dont know if there are from the same company?
also i could be wrong and its not gonna help you at all but i think Hoja means leaf?!

Just googled the name and found a few sites with snipplets of info, they are made in the Canary Islands and recently started importing to the USA, before it was to just a few European countries hence production was very small, average prices are for a Box of 25 x Elegantes ?15.00 and 25 x Majestosos ?19.00.

I've bought them guys, not had time to look at properly but are definitely hand made in Dominican republic, all seals and date are intact and stamped. I also managed to buy a box of 25 sealed Monti no 4's for ?80 as well today. Never had the no4's so will be something new to try as well. I will report back properly on Monday as I'm on my travels again this evening and wont have time to delve into them. Thanks for the advice chaps.

Dherm , if you don't know how they have been kept or where they were bought I would seriously put them into quarantine, putting them in the freezer for a few days will kill any tobacco beetles ( a lot of smokers frown on this ) but better than an infestation, you get a lot of offers just be cautious

Thanks for the advice. Ive put them in a tupperdor on their own by chance really as it was empty. The chap I got them off is a seasoned smoker and they were in his humi. But I understand what your saying mate.
