  • plugged cigar - my beloved party sd4

First time ever had a proper plugged cigar struggled to draw etc etc, well i grabbed a leaf from the cap end and pulled it through the cigar, did the trick to be fair, thought i share the fact it worked.

That said I was at the point if binning it when I thought hell worth a shot, and there you go cigar behaved and smoked no problem.

It's one way of doing it I suppose, doesn't always work though - I have one of those de-pluggers. Only time I needed it, and it didn't work!

Sounds like a neat little trick, but how did you grab the leaf and pull it through?

I happened to be smoking a somewhat plugged Puro myself today, tried grabbing a leaf from the cap with a pair tweezers, but no luck.

      So what's the trick?

Bare in mind is committed to ditching the cigar so I opted for a barbaric attempt on awhim, thumb and forefinger and pinched at the end till a leaf came out a little then pulled gently elk it came through. Tweezers dont work as surface area is too small and splits the leaf.

Id be somewhat reluctant depending on the cigar, but as I say id decided to bin it so no loss diffusion, I won this time

I have good results with tweezers, but firstly I use a threaded rod: I I push the threaded rod completely, turning it, then I take it off without turninf; a good amount of tobacco is removed and I finish the work with the tweezers.

Frank. I like this idea of a threaded rod. Sounds like something a dentist would perform root-canal treatment with...:what:

              Where can I find one?

Long Allen key works well, Drill bit not entirely suitable as it would want to turn itself, Threaded rod here

M3 is a bit big to push down a cigar though and i cannot ever remember seeing it in a smaller size.

Sure, as long as the ring gauge is the size of your fist!

That might do the trick..as long as it has a long shaft (fnarr)

Maybe I used a wrong wording; it's actually a threaded screw with a pointed head.

Like a very small wood screw, no doubt.

I hear somewhere DeWalt are going in partnership with Xikar ! What other accessories would our BOTL find useful ?
