I'm heading for the pub for a pint of Guinness... A very rare treat!
I have with me a short story, rg perla, RJ cedros no3 and a party short....
Which will go best with the Guinness?

And for future reference, what else goes well with stout?

I find it quite hard to match a cigar with Guinness as it has a strong flavour and can mask the cigars flavour
    I would go with a N/C so you don't waste a Cuban

      Ya no...
I've never tried a cigar with a beer before. Except for Young's Double Chocolate Stout. Mmmmmmmm.

Party Short is good with a strong n sweet black or white coffee.

I tend to go for NC with my stouts, they are a bit more robust against the deep roast flavour profiles of the beer

Yep, in an ideal world, I too would think along the lines of an NC - perhaps with a Sumatran wrapper, the sweetness would work very nicely against the dry bitterness of Guinness.

I think there are a wealth of good matching options once you go towards lighter beers (bitters, ambers etc), and even porters. But yes, stout is a tricky one. Of the options available the RG Perla strikes me as being the 'sweeter', but I would still be hesitant myself. I think the floral elements of the RyJ would clash with the Guinness, so I'd argue not the greatest choice. The Short Story, in my experience, would be a little too light to stand up to Guinness. I love the Party Short far too much to pair it with a strong flavoured drink (other than coffee).

I have smoked a couple Maduro's along side Guinness (Original or Export) and enjoyed the pairing.
