Also wooden cabs are preferable for ageing. The paper lined 'dress boxes' are far more susceptible to taking on moisture and encouraging mould.

I no what u mean but for i like the look of any cigar box when there lined up all neat and untouched

Thanks chaps.
It's probably daft, but for me it feels like they need to come in proper solid wooden boxes, otherwise I feel like I may as well buy singles and fivers - I love wooden boxes, as they add an extra dimension to the whole cigar experience.
I'm really looking forward to getting a box of bhk's for that very reason

Try http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com - they list which boxes each cigar comes in (this is an invaluable resource that I'm sure you'll be using as much as me eventually!)
I think the boxes your cigar came in are probably dress boxes - they are still made of cedar

If you've been buying online it generally says in the descriptions.
But anyway, http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/ click on BRANDS .... all you want to know past and present is on here.

Boxes - How do you know?
Sorry for the noob question.....
How do you know what sort of box cigars are likely to come in?
So far I have 4 boxes - the party shorts and erdmcs both came in cardboard type boxes (which I hate) - and the short stories and monte pe's came in wooden boxes (which I love).
So - how do you know?
Is there any way of telling? Is there a rule of thumb?Tags: None
