    • No airmail takes more than a couple of weeks. I remember sending to parcels to Ozz by sea but hey that was decades ago. I send cigars to club members 2nd class signed for;. 1st class wasted money IMHO as you can never prove what was in there it' s true vealue.
Buying from legit suppliers is usually by courier eg DHL. Within EU, small orders Germany to Belgium, I am happy for 1st class tracked as I don't have to wait in for it but can go & collect from Post Office if I am not in on the initial delivery. For bigger, more expensive deliveries there is no other logical methods than 1st class tracked airmail/ courier.
I would go as far as suggesting if you are telling a less than 100% honest suppliers you want the cheapest possible route & you don't even want to pay for tracking, they might well be more tempted to think they can fob you off with dodgy goods.

      • I do recall that the RyJs that you sent me took six weeks because they came by boatmail but I don't understand how you wouldn't know that this time. Surely you select the option you want even in Canada?

No sayings. No fancy stuff. Post just said 4 weeks.

Now, if you really want. I've said all I need to Tommy personally through text. If he wishes to contact me, I will gladly do it via Text, Email, or a Call. But even you would agree that this is no discourse for a public forum.
If you want, I can plain text everything to you via a personal message. This is hardly a method of communication for this sort of topic.

I didn't order them to his address. That was my box that I got in.

If that was the case, we wouldn't have been yelling about them since week 4...

            • This is a mess, but unfortunately Jeremy I really do believe this is a matter for the open forum.... This is a lesson to all about being cautious with deals and how NOT to do things.

I really hope this gets a resolution soon.

What sort of boat was this? One that took the via Australia and Shanghai route. Mail packets were only taking six days max to cross the Atlantic back in the 1940s .... and they had U-boats to worry about!

Untracked, first-class air should have been the way to go.

                    • In his defence Arf, I had given up on the package he sent me earlier in the year and was surprised when it actually turned up. I checked the postmark and it had taken six weeks so he wasn't trying to have me over. Still I would have thought that asking for airmail at the counter would prevent that but apparently not in the colonies.

                      • That does happen admittedly .... parcels can get buried under under a mail mountain at Mount Pleasant. They've even been known to have skip fulls parked outside in lorries .... or just ouside .... in the wet!

You would have been better of buying them here, there isn't that much difference between UK and Canadian prices, and a whole lot less hassle!
