Remember to wrap the box in clingfilm before freezing them.

Loose ones are in freezer bags rest are in the Tupperware boxes

So after freezing how do you defrost-them? Room temp exposed to the environment? or a separate Tupperware box @ a set humidity?

The box was 6 years old Monk, which if the larvae are only now becoming active suggests they were not frozen after rolling (as Habanos claim) but were stored in a temperature controlled environment. Raises a few confidence issues about buying in Cuba.

Well done for spotting the problem when you did Mr Edamski, it would have been easy to miss had you just 'tupped' the box for long storage.

The Monte No 1 is a very fine smoke, I hope your crawly lodgers don't put you off from enjoying them.

When I bought them I asked the guy why everything else they had was 12 months or under and this was 6 years old. Due to the language barrier all I managed to get was a they've just not been bought. The shelves where sparsely populated so not like they could hide. There was some 08 boxes at the airport as well which makes me wonder if a stash has been found.

Yeah I said this to my old man. Plenty of people buy a box and put them away for a year or two, that would have been a much different story!
