  • Hale, Greater Manchester

Not sure where to start this one. Looks like I'll be working in south Greater Manchester for another week, staying in Hale. Find out later today.

With the prospect of another week up here, I'm feeling weary of loitering around the hotel entrance in the evening so wondered if anyone knows of a pub with a decent sheltered smoking area, or better still, a cigar-friendly venue in or near Hale. No car, so prefer somewhere 'walkable'. (Don't want much ...!?)

Any suggestions, or am I stuck with the hotel entrance?

Yep, Moose would be my recommendation too.

To be honest most decent pubs/bars with an outdoor area should be ok, it's not that rare to find a cigar smoker in Cheshire.

I'm imagining your own cigar travel thread on here!! Get dropped off in an unknown location Bear Grylls style, and you have 24hrs to find a decent pint, some pub food and a comfy place to smoke!

Umm, I think I fell at the first hurdle. Resorted to the collective experience and expertise of the forum at the first sign of difficulty.

But that's the beauty of this online community thing. You never need struggle on alone!

That's cool, but you can start a thread to help the rest of us! The amount of travelling you appear to do for work, you are like our UKCF recon!

Ha, yes. There's definitely some merit in putting together a list of places we recommend. I'm sure most of us find ourselves away from home for work or whatever every now and then, so it'd be good to know what's around. There's the H&F directory, but I'd value local knowledge of a friendly pub most of all.

You watch, I'll probably be stuck in London from now on!
