I agree with you on that. I tend to avoid larger RG so am in likelihood not the best person to discuss them. On your list however I have smoked a Libertadore, it's alright, but it's no Inmensas or PC. Boli releases that I really like and think will age well are/were the German RE Esp2 and Gold Medal.

The French Libertadores were Partagas box coded (TEB) and bloody outstanding. Tasted very similar to the Simones (also TEB stamped) and perhaps even the Medio Orient Double Corona (which i've yet to light up).
The '13 Libertadores is something from a disaster area. The original colorado wrappers smoked brilliantly but i'm not sure what happened after that. 3 months later, they started churning out these dark wrappers that tasted like milk chocolate gone bad. I'm afraid to get a box now because of that - for me, not something to buy blind. I regret not picking up 2 boxes in Cuba LIKE ORIGINALLY PLANNED.
Gold Medal is my favourite size that takes after the Bolivar Lonsdale - leagues better.
- all worth a premium when aged. A few NY stores actually put down Zinos or Davidoffs for 5 years before putting them out for display.
And that's what they pay, although the only difference after 5 years is that the cello is a little yellower.
I have heard US BOTL say that the NC brands with thicker wrappers are worth aging .... but which ones those might be I have no idea and have never bothered to ask.

Hurumph! I don't know about that, amigo. I've had some pretty think ones in me mouth before and don't remember them improving with age. If fact, I remember them shrinking a bit as time went on. I could be wrong, however.

Any consensus of changing the title of this thread to something more searchable/related? On the lines of: "Cubans decline in complexity"? Just something straight forward.
It ain't easy. Being Sleezy. But it's sure as hell easy being a Magical Modulator!!
After reading this 3 times, I still have no idea what is going on...
STricking the Picadores and RG Perlas which i've yet to try, the last 3 are absolutely horrendous and I don't ever want to try them again. I've also stopped caring about the g'damn small RyJ offerings. It'll take years before retailers can remove those from the shelves. I'm not even disappointed in the discontinuation of the RyJ Petit Julieta.
The Half Corona is something I've started to ween myself off now. My recent box and recent five-packs have been mediocre - not worth my time. I used to love these smokes and nurse them for up to an hour. Now, they last 20 minutes before I just say: 'sod it' and toss them astray (more like 'Ashtray'! ). I sincerely hope it was just a bad month as these smokes were great for me last year...
I am very curious to the D6. If it's anything like the E2, I know I'm getting at least 2 boxes of OR.
Petit Julieta have been discontinued?
Also cant get the convoy theme song out of my head, but hey at least it got the xmas songs out of there!
Hope you guys appreciate my contribution to this intellectual debate on cigars

Which would miss the intention of the Thread which was to ask the question. Which if any of the recently (call it ten/fifteen years) released vitola, either regular production, LE or RE has the potential to be or can be called a classic Cuban cigar?
I offered the QdO Embajador as being a cigar I believe has what it takes .... here's another, 2005/07 Punch Superfinos .... over to you chaps!
And don't worry Mr Wigan, your comments are no less cerebral that those of the rest of us.

Up for nomination, possibly the Spanish Dippy RE, the Coleccion Privada short robusto. Mind you only having smoked four (and me not being around cigars for decades like some), I might not be the best candidate to state these will blossom into a classic, but they have been a fine smoke and well received around the globe.

I thought it a very good cigar too CJ. It's certainly a 'smokers' cigar now, what the future will hold for them I don't know .... other than there aren't that many left to be had.

I guess whilst acknowledging they've been good, the scarcity leans away from 'classic' I suppose. I think, however, that given some further years, the blend will meld into something potentially better than they are currently as there's still a youthful, almost brashness, about them. They're shouting out "I'm pretty good y'know" whereas given time they may be sitting back comfortably confident in the fact that they were and still are. I hope so
The most common remark levelled at NCs is that they're one dimensional is it not
Well, that certainly is one, but the issue I have with NCs, in general, is finding one that is worthy of my time. Now, there are a few really tasty NCs that I've touted here before, but many, if not the majority, are not...in my opinion, of course.
Yes I believe they do. The World today is far more instant for one thing. For some of us cigar aging is part of the hobby, for others it would get in the way of them smoking their cigars, and as you've said their is no aging culture associated with NC cigars.
if i am honest....I think it's a good thing to produce sticks that, like NCs, are ready to go at the point of purchase. I remember the my first box of puros was too young to smoke and tasted like crap..if i am honest....so when I brought this to the vendors attention, he casually commented that they needed aging. I thought WTF, I bought them for smoking, not for aging. I'm sure others feel the same, no?

HAHA! The only thing you're weening off is your mum's milk!
It's a generational thing good buddy, check out 'Convoy' on Netflix
HeeeHaaaa! You got that right, PeaJay you ol' cotton picker! WooHoo! Tripped up the young blood with that one!! Got me ears on, me peddle to the metal with the shiney side up keeping 'er between the white lines. YaaaaHooooo! BJ out!

I know that I enjoy the Ramon Allones Andorra RE, but with my lack of experience I couldn't say if it's going to improve any.
Right! One honest hombre. Can I get two.....(I'm looking straight at you, chico)?
A special thanks to Bag Boy for compiling the above Coro responses. Our apologizes for the bb the bot insertions. Were are currently looking into this re-infection problem.

This is how I feel about the Juan Lopez Ideales.
I've hated the Dip Spains. So much. Only have tried two and just started bombing them out left and right after a while.
It honestly wasn't worth the trouble for me...
