  • Boxes Of 5 Cigars

Friend of my son bought him back a box of 5 Jose L Pedra cigars at portugal airport duty free shop.
My question is should the box have a code number on it, or is the code on the bigger box that the 5 packs come in.
Every thing look genuine the box the stickers and the cigars themselves.
Any of you aficionado's tried the Jose L pedra Cazadores whats your opinion on them if you have.
I would be very surprised if any airport round the world would risk selling fakes.

The outer packaging that has 5 of the 5 packs in it would have the date code on it

No one would bother faking them, there a easy smoke nothing complex.

I doubt they would be fakes, they're pretty cheap so not much profit to be made by faking a cheap cigar.

I have some and think they're really good for the price. I heard someone describe them as cheap winter smokes and I think that description fits perfectly.

Agreed that they are unlikely to be fake, IMO they are a good go to well priced smoke. Like Mo says, not much complexity but sometimes they are just the right thing.

Oh, and isn't it the Cazadores that tastes like chocolate if you run them under the tap before smoking?

Fake JLP's, what ever next LOL That's made my day. Cost a euro each in Spain, when I tried them.

Nope, never heard of that one before! So I just run it under the tap to dampen the wrapper?

yes just run under a tap for a few seconds, dont get the foot wet, you will see the water just runs off the stick, the idea is to just get the wrapper a little damp not soggy. Leave for ten minutes then smoke
i found it makes the cigar alot smoother and more chocolate flavours.

If you type Cigar Wetting into Google there's a couple posts on other forums. I have never tried it but I'm sure Mo has.

Edit: he beat me to it.

Have you noticed any others that benefit from this treatment Mo?

have not tried with any other sticks, If I remember rightly it was an idea originally from Min Ron Nee, I read about it on another forum, worth a try with a JLP I thought even if it went wrong no great loss. I would not want to try sticking a BHK under the tap!
