myself I dont bother until/if the band gets in the way then it must be removed, I dont collect or save them so its not an issue to me.

A few of us were at the pub the other night and a we over heard a guy saying " now thats one bad ass cigar" afters we both said how we were hoped it was our cigar he was talking about.... Harry had an Opus X and I had a Monte D 2005 so not too sure as the Opus does look impressive but then I had a nice Monte?

I leave the band on as for as long as possible too, unless it's loose to start with, then it can become more of a hinderance. If I need to remove a band to squeeze that little bit extra out of a stoogie then i slice it with a penknife (only at home though!) and I keep all mine too

I leave the band on until the cigar has warmed up then its easier to undo the band, I try not to slide it off the end in case it caught on the cap, just the warmth of the lit cigar should relax the glue, I must admit that I keep the bands. I have a selection from years ago that I framed and a whole new selection Im working on to also frame and hang in my study.

Ah - a case of preference. Bands are quite curious little things, I suppose.

I hadn't thought of sliding the band over the foot, but it's worth a try. When I get a band that won't peel apart or slide off, my Swiss Army Knife Classic's blade is just the size for the task.
