  • UK B&M / Online stores that offer discounts / sales?

The UK cigar market (online stores and B&Ms) seem fairly tight in keeping their prices very similar.
I know forum sponsors C.Gars Ltd. guarantee to have the lowest prices in the UK but I'm wondering if anyone's local B&M ever have sales occasionally, maybe moving on stock that has sat there too long? Maybe there just isn't the footfall and volume of sales to warrant it?
My local B&M has a membership scheme (?50 / year) which allows members to buy their cigars of the month (usually two) at a discount and access to their smoking lounge (?20 minimum spend otherwise).

    Thanks

    Rob

Every time I ask Cgars for a discount I'm told they're not allowed to discount tobacco goods.

I would imagine Cigars are the opposite to most stock... Ie they get more desirable the longer you have them sat about. No real need to discount then.

They may "guarantee it", but it's not the case. There are others that are cheaper, but you have to point out the lower price and request a price match on each order.

Mysmokingshop are usually the cheapest Off the bat and I know for a fact that Simon normally sells his aged stock at regular RRP too.

While we're On it, I actually think it's naughty of retailers to hold on to stock and bump the price up when it's a bit older....... but I'm confident that's what happens at times.

That's good to know, they've got a good selection too. Is Simon a forum member?

Sadly not, and I don't think forums are his thing. Even if they were I don't think he would have the time to post. Thoroughly Top bloke and great retailer though.

Right, totally name dropping after my recent London trip but with the cigars I smoked at Dunhill, JJ Fox and Sautters at the weekend all the staff were quick to point out that the age stock was at no extra cost than the RRP
