Vacuum packing Cigars
Ok Wigan I tried the vacuum with an empty cigar box and got a surprising result! Glad the box was empty because the suction strength broke the box! I guess if the box was airtight this wouldn't have happened because the machine is trying to suck the air thats inside the box. The machine does have the option of just sealing the bag without vacuuming but thats not really the point. When the vacuum option is on you have to wait till it sucks all the air out before it will seal the bag.
All good in the name of research though!

Just a simple observation.... The bag shown appears textured... I assume to enable at better flow of gases out. My butcher uses regular quite thick clear plastic pouches when sealing meats with marinade etc and rarely gets a seal that squeezes in on the contents. You can always move the contentsround a little, soif steak were swapped for sticks, i doubt it would crunch a wooden box, or tubes.

Yes its good. I got it from Lakeland. It occasionally misfires (fails to seal after suction) for some random reason but most of the time works ok.

A quote from Min Ron Nee:
"Oxygen in large quantities, like in wine, destroys some of the delicate flavours.
The effect of oxygen on delicate flavours offers a plausible explanation as to why cigars packaged in varnished Cabinets, and in airtight glass jars age much more beautifully after a few decades.
Good aging of Havanas, like great wines, cannot be accelerated by any artificial means without any loss of quality. This has been tried and failed.
Whether you should 'breathe' your cigars periodically depends on the time frame you wish to age newly purchased Havanas before consumption. If it is just a few years, or even a few months, do 'breathe' your cigars.
If you want a beautifully aged cigar and time is no concern, never 'breathe' your cigars."
Obviously, it is his personal opinion and very likely informed from his years of experience. I'd make sure that the bags you use are not permeable and be careful not to crush the box when you seal it. Perhaps these vacuum sealers can be 'stopped' a little short of their full extraction? Experiment, experiment...
