For individual sticks - this is more a temporary option for postage or travel rather than for long term storage but not that different to a sealed tubo in essence.
@Wigan- Would be interesting to see how a vacuumed full box would fare over a long term period. Possibly with a boveda..?

Just to add, I think vacuum sealing is overkill and I'd also worry that it would suck moisture out of the cigar.

Push fit piping over the cigar then vacuum seal it.

Right, so I gave it a go with an expendable cigar. The process did pack the cigar too tightly, see the pics below. The Vac packed cigar was 'crinkled' inside the pack and this can be seen when I took the cigar out, the wrinkles did relax back to normal but it was only in the bag a few seconds. I wouldn't recommend this as a packing option but I reckon if the cigar was rolled in card first then that would protect it better.

Yeah why not- I have a Chinchalero in my humidor which I will probably never smoke. Unfortunately the pressure isnt adjustable.

I don't have any experience with those bits of kit, but is the 'pressure' of extraction adjustable? Give one go in the name UKCF research

Vacuum packing Cigars
Has anyone used a vac pack machine to package singles up? I.e. for posting bombs etc.
I have a vac packer but wondering whether it squeezes the cigars too much?Tags: None
